The East tour is a 2 hour walking tour which takes in
(beside the tourist information office in the centre of the main square)
Duration-approx. 2hours, Price-200Kč per person, Difficulty-some stairs
- The Caesar fountain (why is a roman emperor the only human depicted by the baroque fountains of Olomouc ?)
- The renaissance staircase of the old town hall,
- The Sarkander chapel (why turn a prison into a chapel?)
- Mozart, Mahler and Mendel in Olomouc
- The old university (If the synagogue was at the other end of town, why is this called the Jewish gate?)
- The museums and the famous chocolate pie
- Our Lady Mary of the Snows church
- The tritons fountain
- The new university, the Archbishops and the Hapsburgs in Olomouc
- Cathedral hill and the old castle.
- Bezruc gardens and the massive city walls.
- St Michael's church and the Czech chapel. *These churches have dress regulations; Gentlemen will need to remove their hats and Ladies' shirts should at least have short sleeves
- The astronomical clock, (tour concludes here at 12 noon in time for the daily mechanical performance)
